The yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia is renowned for producing some of the worlds best, and most unique coffees. Typically washed, these coffee beans are light bodied with citrus, and floral notes; you will also typically find deeper notes of blueberry, strawberry, and milk chocolate, and when brewed produces an especially well balanced cup. Coffee grown in the region is typically a heirloom variety, which means that they are direct descendants of the typica or bourbon varietals of the arabica species. Heirloom varieties are prized for their authenticity and intensity of flavour.
