Rooibos is naturally caffeine free and rich in Vitamin C. It has a great flavour and an exceptionally smooth cup. It was originally a wild growing herb in South Africa, now cultivated to meet demand. The herb plant is dried and cut into small pieces.
The infusion is a dark, ruby red and has a soft sweet taste with honey and soft fruit notes developing.
The characteristic change when the milk is added producing a cup not that dissimilar to a light bodied traditional black tea.
